Brianne's Custom Abstract Pet Portraits
FAQ Here are some answers to common questions I get asked: How do you do it? This is the most commonly asked question and also the hardest for me to answer. I just do it! But as for the whole process, I use a photo you provide me of the pet to create a hand-drawn black & white ink image, complete with intricate detail and the pet's name incorporated into the drawing. I then scan the ink image and begin adding color in PhotoShop, using your photo as reference. After the pet is complete, I experiment with different backgrounds and colors until I find the perfect one that makes your portrait "pop." After it's completed, I e-mail you a preview (if you have e-mail) so you can let me know what you think. If all is well, I will print your portrait on my spiffy new portrait printer, using professional ink and photo paper, guaranteed to last and not fade. I then mat your print using a 11x14 white mat with backing, then seal it in a crystal clear bag for protection, then ship it directly to you. Can I choose the background? Yes! In fact, I prefer you chose it. That way, you get exactly what you want. Just look through my gallery and let me know which background you like best. I can make backgrounds any color. I also do landscape backgrounds for certain portraits, but in my honest opinion, landscape backgrounds don't make your portrait stand out as much as colored backgrounds do. Only $60? Why are they so cheap compared to other pet portraits? The main reason why I only charge $60 for my pet portraits is because I want everyone to be able to afford and enjoy them. I know I've looked at other "normal" pet portraits that are $200+ and although they're good, I just can't afford that kind of luxury and I don't know many people who can. Another reason I only charge $60 is because you're not getting an original. You're getting a print. I honestly don't make much of a profit... most of the fee goes to buy more supplies like envelopes, mats, bags, pens, ink, photo paper, and shipping costs. Why am I getting a print? What happens to the original? The reason you're getting a print instead of the original is because most of the portrait is done digitally. The only "orignial" part is the the ink drawing, which by itself doesn't look like much until I add color using my computer. Digital prints allow me to easily experiment with different colors and backgrounds until I find a combinaton that I think makes the image "pop" the best. Digital prints are great because you can order as many as you want, in any size. They also allow me to send you an e-mail preview before it's printed, just in case something isn't quite right. If you don't like the background, I can easily change it, unlike a oil or acrylic painting. Do you frame the portrait? I used to frame all my portraits, until the Post Office kept breaking the majority of them, despite my careful packing. Also, many of my customers wanted to pick out their own frame, so I decided to stop offering them. Plus, that's how am able to offer free shipping, because it's much cheaper to ship a matted print than a framed print. However, your print comes beautifully and professionally matted with a white mat and backing, then sealed in a crystal clear bag. It comes to you ready to give or hang as is. If you decide to frame it, just buy an 11x14 frame of your choice. I see you accept trades. What kind of items do you trade for? Almost anything! I've traded pet portraits for all kinds of things, including other pet portraits, dog collars, and even my puppy Dozer! Just let me know what you have and I'll let you know if I'm interested. When do I pay? You pay when the portrait is done. When I send you the preview, I can send a PayPal invoice directly to your e-mail as well. Or, after you preview the image, you can send me a check or money order. If you're local, you pay when I deliver the portrait. What is PayPal? PayPal is a website where you can send and receive money from credit card and bank accounts. It's very secure. Click here for more information on PayPal. PayPal is the only way I can accept credit/debit card payments. ![]() I'm flattered you like my work, but please do not copy or repost any of my artwork on other websites without my written permission.
